TECHNOLOGY FunCell Technology is bio inspired and use biobased polymers to enhance cellulose-cellulose interactions in wet and dry conditions. Our additives show a high degree of mechanical performances: papers are up to 2 times stronger at dry state and up to 20 times stronger at wet state. The high reactivity of the product also allows a further functionalization in aqueous medium to provide on demand functionalities to the final product. APPLICATIONS FunCell propose additives that are suitable for all kind of cellulosic materials. They offer sustainable solutions for paper and boards, for all kinds of fibers and pulps. ADVANTAGES FunCell additives will provide you a wide range of possibilities in terms of performances and added values, as they require no specific process: you can add directly the product to the paper pulp, and it doesn’t need any activation or curing step. The high flexibility of these additives make them available for all kind of cellulosic materials and/or fibres. FunCell’s additives, are also non toxic and keep the biodegradability of papers. ABOUT US FunCell is a company launched in 2020 from an academic laboratory, the CEntre de Recherche sur les MAcromolecules Végétales (Cermav, CNRS) in Grenoble, France. Our team is involved in the study of polysaccharides, their organization and their applicative potential for new materials, from fundamental problematics to industrial partnerships. Our skills and knowledge in chemistry and physico-chemistry of these polymers enables a unique know-how in formulation and production, which allows us to propose custom-made solutions for the development and optimization of cellulosic materials. Therefore FunCell use this expertise to provide to the paper industry, additives and on-demand solutions for wet and dry strength reinforcement and functionalization.

FunCell Technology est une entreprise lancée en 2020 à partir d'un laboratoire académique, le CEntre de Recherche sur les MAcromolecules Végétales (Cermav, CNRS) à Grenoble, en France. Nous proposons des additifs bio-inspirés et basés sur des polymères végétaux pour renforcer les interactions entre la cellulose dans des conditions humides et sèches. Notre produit offre une grande réactivité mécanique : les papiers sont jusqu'à deux fois plus résistants à l'état sec et jusqu'à vingt fois plus résistants à l'état humide. Nos additifs sont adaptés à tous types de matériaux cellulosiques, y compris le papier, les cartons, les non-tissés et les textiles. FunCell utilise son expertise en chimie et physico-chimie pour proposer des solutions personnalisées pour renforcer la résistance mécanique sèche et humide ainsi que la fonctionnalisation de matériaux cellulosiques.
